The newest Centinela Feed and Pet Supplies store opened on Thursday, Feb. 8 next to Aldi in Tustin.
The family-run, Torrance-based company has leased half of the building that was the former Tustin Lanes and Orchard Supply Hardware convenience store.
The former OSH at 1091 Irvine Blvd. has been vacant since 2018 when Lowe’s, its parent company, closed all 99 hardware stores. The popular bowling alley closed in 2015 after 38 years in business.

Carlos Mora, the general manager of Centinela in Tustin, and his staff welcomed surprised shoppers Thursday night to a soft opening ahead of the grand opening celebration, which begins at 10 a.m. today (Friday , Feb. 9) and will continue through the weekend.
The sprawling interior is neatly lined with rows of food, treats and supplies for dogs, cats and pocket pets.

Mora said the grand opening weekend will feature discounts for shoppers, with vendors on hand showing off their wares. Fido can have fun too — take a bath. The store has DIY washing stations for dogs of all ages. (If you’re going this weekend, ask about a freebie. Dog washes are usually $17 per dog, regardless of their size.)
Pets are welcome on a leash and inside the store, Mora said.
