Camp Bow Wow opens 12 locations by 2023.
Just a week after Camp Bow Wow announced plans for 2024, the dog daycare and grooming chain now has a new owner.
Propelled Brands, a franchisor of service-oriented businesses that include Fastsigns International, My Salon Suite and NerdsToGo, has acquired Camp Bow Wow, which operates 216 locations in 40 states and Canada. The acquisition brings the combined Propelled Brands portfolio to more than 1,300 locations.
The company says it will play a major role in expanding the presence and development of Camp Bow Wow. Camp Bow Wow opened 12 locations in 2023, and has more than 60 new locations in development, with plans for 20 to open by 2024.
“Camp Bow Wow is a proven franchise organization in the pet services industry, and is a welcome addition to our family of brands,” said Catherine Monson, president and CEO of Propelled Brands and former chair of International Franchise Association. “Camp Bow Wow and its dedication to helping entrepreneurs realize their small business ownership aspirations aligns well with the goals of Propelled Brands.”
Propelled Brands says the acquisition brings its franchising expertise into a “completely new vertical for the company as it grows its portfolio of leading service brands.” Founded in 2000 and based in Westminster, Colo., Camp Bow Wow has been ranked on the Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list for 15 consecutive years.
“Joining the Propelled Brands family is consistent with our ongoing strategy to provide outstanding support and growth opportunities to our franchise owners, and we look forward to leveraging Propelled Brands’ franchise expertise to accelerate growth at the unit level and dramatically expand our footprint nationwide,” said Camp Bow Wow President Julie Turner. “Their expertise in franchising best practices will help us further improve the unit- level economy and continue to increase franchise owner profitability, while delivering our mission of Making Dogs Happy to pups and pet parents across North America.”
