MASSAPEQUA, NY — A Massapequa man was arrested Sunday night and charged with animal cruelty, police said.
Andrew Laurendi, 21, was also fired from his job at Pawlywood in Massapequa for animal cruelty, police said.
Laurendi was seen on video swinging several dogs above her head by a leash attached to their necks. He let go of the leashes and the dogs fell to the ground, police said. Laurendi smashed the dog’s face into a fence multiple times, authorities said.

At least one dog suffered serious injuries, police said.
Laurendi was arrested and charged with animal cruelty and torture or injury to an animal/failure to provide support, police said. He was given an appearance ticket to return on Thursday, Dec. 21 when he is expected to be arraigned.
