Local pet stores are gearing up with their picks for top pet gifts for the 2023 holiday season.

During the holiday season, many owners want to make sure their animal sidekicks aren’t left out of their gift-giving traditions.

According to Thunder Pet and Pet Valu, Kongs are a very popular gift choice for dogs this holiday season.
Hollow rubber toys can be filled with treats, usually peanut butter. Toys are intended to provide mental stimulation for dogs, and can be helpful when crate training, for example.
Meanwhile, Ren’s Pets says stuffies are another top choice. The store stocks several soft toys that look like creatures like squirrels and foxes meant to satisfy a dog’s hunting instinct.
In terms of cats, the top toy for cats this year is the SmartyKay Concealed Motion Cat Toy. It mimics the movements of hidden prey and encourages healthy activity for your cat.
