Whether it’s a teddy bear cut — more hair around the dog’s face than on its body — or a doggie ponytail tied with a cutesy bow, this new mobile pet grooming franchise can get a pet that looks good.
And they will come to you.
Furry Land has company vans full of pet grooming supplies that hit driveways or sidewalks in the greater Milwaukee area, said franchise owner Joshua Nelson.
Nelson said his groomers can give dogs a creative cut, or a kennel cut, where the fur is all one length. Sometimes, they will handle older dogs, but most are under 15, he said.
The entrepreneur said he started a Milwaukee-area location this summer because of his love for dogs and how consumers want convenience-based services. He said during the pandemic, he noticed dog adoption rates were high and society “seemed to revolve around a convenience-based service like food delivery and Amazon.”
“I’ve had a lifelong love of dogs … never lost one,” she said.
Why use a mobile pet groomer?
Nelson said the convenience of mobile pet groomers will help people during the winter months.
“They (the dogs) don’t want to leave the comfort of their homes when it’s cold and often go out only when necessary. lost driving to and from a salon when their pets need grooming services ,” Nelson said.
He said the business also appeals to “pet owners with busy lives.”
“Many dogs struggle in traditional salon environments where there are other dogs and distractions around. Mobile pet grooming is a one-on-one experience … it’s intimate,” she said.
What types of services does Furry Land provide?
In addition to traditional pet grooming, Furry Land services include baths, eye and ear cleanings, nail clippings, and dog and cat blood removal treatments.
What types of pets are groomed in Furry Land?
Right now, Nelson said, his location only does dog grooming. He said the cat fix is ”in the works.”

Nelson said its services typically take an hour or two per dog.
Where does Furry Land go to groom a pet?
Furry Land serves people and their pets in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Washington and Waukesha Counties.
When is Furry Land open for an appointment?
