The Knights of Columbus 28th Annual Lenten Fish Fry is set to begin Feb. 16 and will continue every Friday until March 22.
The popular feast will feature beer-battered and fried Atlantic cod or baked Atlantic cod, french fries or mashed potatoes, rolls, coleslaw, tartar sauce, lemon wedges, coffee and punch.
Dinners will be served in the social center at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 537 E St., from 4 to 7 pm
The fish fry is open to the public, and the social center is often packed with repeat guests who make it an annual tradition to enjoy the event along with the opportunity to visit with friends and neighbors.
“It’s really a lot of fun, and you get to make a lot of friendships with people you know in the community,” organizers said.
Cost is $15 for two pieces and the fixings, with clam chowder available for $6, and soda and bottled water for $2. A four-piece dinner, known as “the Carl,” and a children’s meal of a piece of fish with fries are also available.
The annual fish fry helps raise money for charities supported by the Knights of Columbus, including the Ramona Pregnancy Care Clinic, Feed the Hungry, Heart and Hooves Therapy and the Ramona Food and Clothes Closet.
