Imagine being in calm water and relaxing and then a tarpon jumps over the boat. That’s almost a slap in the face… literally, and it almost feels like a tarpon is taunting you.
The tarpon is a popular sport fish, they put up a good fight and can get big. They can reach up to 8 feet and over 200-pounds. That’s not like a fish you want to punch in the face. With a little bit of momentum that can take someone out in a heartbeat… or worse. Three fishermen are seen fishing on a calm ocean day. It looks so peaceful in the video. Then, out of nowhere a tarpon comes out of the water, between the fisherman and right on top of the boat.
This fish can get high jump record, very big jump. He didn’t touch anything. All the guys seem terrified in the video, but how could one person not be? It may not be an 8-footer, but it’s still enough to give someone a concussion.

Florida Fishermen Fight Alligator To Land A Tarpon
Fishing in Florida is not for the faint of heart.
Probably more than these kids bargained for when fishing off a bridge, but hell, in that neck of the woods they were probably more on their toes for this kind of thing. Alligators are a cool animal. They will eat almost anything they can get their hands on, some have even been found with plaques and bullets in their stomachs. They can also be very large, with large males pushing 1,000-pounds and 11-feet long. On top of the fact that they have the strongest bite force in North America.
That’s not an animal you want trying to bite your catch.
This group of fishermen can be seen standing on a bridge fishing. They hook on a good one and a gator begins to attack the fish. They will not give up the fight and will double down. A boy was even seen beating the gator with the handle of his cane. They really want to get that fish…
As they try to net it, the alligator opens its jaws and lunges. The group continues to fight and as it does it again rushes towards their fish. They get it into the net and all the way to safety from the gator.
They guys came out with a very nice tarpon to catch.
