A teenager whose Instagram username is @fish_bandit84 was arrested in Provo, Utah, for taping fish to ATMs and other objects.
The 17-year-old did these strange pranks more than a dozen times from last August to December, ABC4 and FOX13 in Salt Lake City reported, but it wasn’t always in the Provo and Orem areas.
He’s also pulled some of these weird pranks around the world, posting videos of them on his Instagram account, where his bio reads “Live, laugh, tape fish on ATMs.”
An Instagram video shows a fish taped to an ATM in Tokyo in what appears to be a subway station. “We’re going international,” the assailant wrote in the post. Other “fishy” videos are said to have been shot in Frankfurt, Germany; Guatemala City, Guatemala; and Phoenix.
And another was taken in a bathroom stall of a Bass Pro Shops store.
He used a variety of fish such as trout, bluegill, bass, catfish, carp and crappie. A fish has a cigarette in its mouth.
In one incident, he taped a trout to a Provo police car.
The teenager faces two counts of property damage stemming from the cost of the cleanup, ABC4 reported. The case was referred to Juvenile Justice and Youth Services.
