Dear Purina Pet Food,
It is unfortunate that you continue to insult pet owners by mislabeling the many consumer reports of sick and dead pets linked to your pet food and many other brand as “rumors”. As Purina Pet Food is well aware, adverse events associated with a pet food (any pet food) are properly termed as “report” – specifically a “adverse event report” – they are NOT called gossip.
According to the FDA website, pet owners “ca report complaining about a pet food product“through”Safety REPORTING Portal”. This government system is NOT classified as ‘Safety Rumor Portal’.
The correct term – which you are FULLY aware of – is adverse event reports. Pet owners provide you with adverse event reports, pet owners provide adverse event reports to the FDA, and pet owners provide social media and promote adverse event reports.
Adverse event reports. They are like that.
They are not gossip.
