Santa Paws in Action: How You Can Help Barn and Porch Cats in Need
At one point or another, almost everyone remembers seeing or hearing about local barn or porch cats. These animals know how to create their own outdoor environment, often rewarding homeowners or farms by taking care of problem bugs, mice, or lizards. The question is: Who takes good care of the barn or porch cat?
Even the most independent cat needs some basic health and wellness, including vaccinations, and pest and parasite prevention. These cats also need a safe, loving home that protects them against extreme weather and dangerous predators. Last but not least, they need to be spayed or neutered. Spay and neuter surgeries prevent two cats from becoming a community of cats, each of which now requires the same care.
That’s where donating to our end-of-year Santa Paws funding drive comes in to save these animals. A $75 donation supports our efforts to trap, neuter, and release barn and porch cats. Even if you can only raise $15, that donation will go toward rabies vaccinations to help protect these kittens’ lives.
Some of these cats will happily continue living outside and pay their way, so to speak, by exterminating the local vermin. But not all cats like to stay outside. That’s why we’ll also use incoming Santa Paws donations to help us local rescues by getting them out of the barn, onto the porch, and into the comfortable and loving homes of their adoptive families. Additionally, donation money will allow us to help low-income cat lovers pay for essential veterinary health services. Your donation is tax deductible, so it’s a win for everyone.
Your gift makes a difference. Help us reach our goal of raising $15,000 by December 31st, 2023.
That’s a big goal, and we couldn’t achieve it without your tax-deductible donation – every penny of which goes toward affordable vaccinations, spay/neuter surgeries, and other veterinary wellness services, so give today!
