It started early with a walk along Pickleridge at Gann, where it was good to see a female Goldeneye in flight – the first for a few years, lots of Pipits,Wagtails, to be seen as well as Gulls but the most obvious was the background. soundtrack of Corvids, most Jackdaws are “crowling” and there are thousands of them! Along the tide wrack, with surrounding trees high in the sky both near and far, my pictures can’t do the scale justice, a magnificent sight. I later cycled to Marloes Mere hoping to find the two Whooper Swans seen several times, my expectations were exceeded with six on the water along with three Barnacle Geese, I was joined by local birder Harry from in Camrose that took the Marsh Harrier causing havoc with the duck population, which provided great views before it fell on something in the reeds, as did a visiting couple from Dale who joined us at the hide While I leave and put my camera in my saddlebag Swans fly to the West and a Great White Egret also flies to the West. I finished the day in the Dale enjoying the Jackdaws flying in Starling style whispers!
