Depending on the size, the reels benefit from either open or closed-frame designs. An open frame is used on sizes where weight reduction and quick spool changes are important and a closed frame is used on both the 5000 EN and 9000 models where thin running lines or specialist euronymphs can be used lines. Hardy Averon EuroNymph Fly Reel
Designed to meet the exacting standards of Euro Nymphing and technical light line river anglers the Averon 5000 EN is designed with a shallow, narrow profile large arbor spool to facilitate fast line retrieval and proper stacking. Hardy’s renowned fine tolerance machining is further tightened where possible to optimize for small diameter lines, reduce line slip, and prevent snagging. At the center of the reel is a simple, secure weighting system that allows fine tuning of the rod/reel balance.
