Amazon’s Prime Day sale is right around the corner, taking place in the 2024 event Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17.
Among the best deals on Prime Day – whether it’s gaming discounts, savings on laptops, LEGO price cuts or savings on Amazon’s own-brand Alexa-enabled Echo smart speaker and Fire TV stick, it’s important not to forget some very important members of your extended family – your pets – when bargain-hunting on Prime Day.
Some members of Digital Spy The team (including your writer) is very fortunate to have the responsibility of caring for a beloved pet or pets. We want to give them the best – and, of course, that includes the best deals, whether that’s bulk savings on their favorite food and treats, or a price cut on a piece of technology investment like an automated pet food feeder, WiFi enabled water fountain, or a Furbo or PetCube camera for the helicopter pet parents among us.
Prime Day hasn’t even started yet, but we’re already hard at work scouring Amazon’s inventory for the best savings ahead of the event. Our last price analysis was conducted on Monday, July 15.
Prime Day pet supplies deals – pet food and pet food
Premium pet food retailer Lily’s Kitchen is now offering savings on items from its cat and dog food range (our friends at Country Living ranking it as their best homemade pet food brand for dogs).
The brand’s 2.5kg dry dog food bag will get a 34% price cut ahead of Prime Day (was £25, now £16.50) in four different flavor types. Customers who want regular deliveries can save even more on the Subscribe & Save price £14.85 per bag.
Lily’s Kitchen’s 32-tray mixed Smooth Paté selection for cats is 18% cheaper than usual right now (RRP £32, now £26.24). Again, those who are happy to subscribe for regular deliveries can save even more (Subscribe and Save price – £23.52).
Another brand to make Country LivingThe best dog food roundup is Harrington’s. Dog owners can save more than 40% on a bumper pack of Harrington’s grain-free ‘Adult Complete’ wet food (RRP £27.85, now £16.49), which contains 16 trays of four different types.
There aren’t many deals on Harringtons dry cat food yet, but you can save 22% on a 40-pack of mixed meat and fish wet food in jelly (this particular variety pack is approved by Jolene, the Digital Spy managing editor’s cat).
It normally retails for £18 but is now worth it £13.99 (or £13.29 if you subscribe and save).
Prime Day pet supplies deals – cat litter and dog poop bags
There’s no better way to approach the subject of your pet business, so we’ll just get to it.
As well as saving on the likes of Catsan and Amazon’s own-brand litter, litter mats can be an invaluable accessory for any feline household (let’s face it, it’s their household and you’re lucky enough to be given of access).
This Conlum cat litter mat is reasonably priced at just under £10, but you can currently save an extra 30% bringing the cost down to £6.99.
It only has one layer, unlike some double-layered mats that aim to trap waste and function a bit like a bag – but its grid design should help catch stray waste for lower stress cleaning.
For those of you with dogs, you might like to know that you can save on dog waste bags from the likes of Earth Rated (save 33% in 120 recycled bags), and Lily’s Kitchen (save 58% in 60 compostable bags).
This Yingdelai bumper pack contains 540 dog waste bags (27 rolls) and also comes with a handy standard-size dispenser, should you need one. It’s normally priced at £20.99, but has received a 19% price cut £16.99 before Prime Day.
Prime Day pet supplies deals – dog and cat toys
Want to play fetch with your dog for a very reasonable price? There’s a bundle of 12 Petface-branded tennis balls currently 72% off (usually £8.99, now £2.50).
For those of you looking for something a little less sporty, many Petface dog toys have received massive price cuts ahead of Prime Day. Would you like a squishy ghastly carrot for 75p, or a broccoli chew toy for just 50p?
Meanwhile, the Catit range of toys remains popular, and its Senses Play Circuit has also received a massive price cut (RRP £20.21, now £5.70).
Easy to set up, take apart, clean and rebuild, these circuits are designed to be easily configured to give your cat variety. If you or your cat aren’t keen on using the flashing ball supplied with the item, the tracks can also accommodate small ping-pong balls.
Prime Day pet tech deals – automatic feeders, water fountains, Furbo and Petcube cameras and more
Some deals on automatic feeders are already running for Prime members. PETLIBRO’s automatic 3-litre dry food feeder normally retails at £69.99, but is £10 cheaper for Prime members at £59.99.
You can program up to 6 daily meals and use the manual feeding button to provide extra meals, and it can run on battery backup power in the event of a power outage.
Note that this version does not have WiFi or app capabilities for remote feeding (you’ll have to pay a bit more for either the smaller 2-liter PETLIBRO Air, or a bit more for the larger 5-liter PETLIBRO Granary WiFi).
There’s also a deal running on this Petkit automatic feeder – again, it’s a 3-litre model for dry food and usually retails for £79.99. However, Prime members can save 21% and purchase the item for £62.99.
This device comes with an app and you can receive notifications in case of an error on your device. You can also program up to 30 servings per day, and it has backup battery power.
Finally, the Petcube Bits 2 Lite pet camera is currently on sale for half price (RRP £149, now £75). However, note that there is a long lead time for delivery and it only works with 2.4GHz WiFi (not 5GHz Wifi, so keep this in mind when setting up). The Petcube comes with an app with push notifications for motion and sound, and its optional Petcube Care subscription unlocks additional features. This Petcube Bites 2 device also has a built-in treat dispenser.
