Meghan Specksgoor from Midlothian, Virginia, decided to let her dad babysit her dog while she prepared to travel to New York. His father, Larry is most certainly the proud grandfather of his 4-year-old German Shephard grandson named Chance. Meghan decided to post her texts on Twitter about these two and their adventure. They have since gone viral, with over 55k retweets.
In dad’s first text, Larry wrote: “Grandpa wants to know what kind of take-out I can get? We are hungry.”

“Don’t want to keep bothering you mom, but we really need to hang out with the gramps,” Larry wrote in another text, featuring a happy Chance hanging out with his grandpa at the park.”

Next, Chance and Grandpa sent it! “Hi mom, it’s me again. We had a picnic and are going to the nail salon today. Gramps said if I’m good I can eat ice cream. What kind do I want again?” Larry even inserted an emoji! Very beautiful.

After their picnic dinner together, Larry takes Chance to cut his nails. Then he took Chance out for some pup-friendly ice cream for dessert. At the end of their paw-fect day together, Larry lets Chance sleep with him in his bed. By the look on Chance’s face, you could tell he was very happy. Grandpa treats his “grandson” like gold!
Larry sent his last text, saying: “Hey mom, gramps will be sleeping with me tonight, is there anything else we need to tell him?” He followed it up with, “I hope you’re as happy as I am when I meet you tomorrow and have a good night, love you soooo much ❤️” We just love this guy!

It must be great to have a father (and grandfather) like Larry. Meghan knows Chance is always in good hands if she has to leave her fur kid. Larry (eventually) really likes human grandchildren. I bet he will spoil them as much as he loves to spoil Chance.
