JOPLIN, Mo. – Part of the fun of catching fish is eating what you catch. However, before putting any fish in a fryer or on a grill, fishermen need to know how to properly clean their catch.
People who want to learn more about how to clean fish should register for the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) virtual program “Pond to Plate: Fish Cleaning 101.” This free online event is from 6:30-7:30 pm on May 9. It is put on by the staff of MDC’s Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center in Joplin.
In this program, MDC Education Administrative Specialist Tim Smith will discuss the equipment needed to clean fish and demonstrate some of the common techniques for cleaning fish that people catch in Missouri. People can register for this program at:

Although this program is free, registration is required to participate. Use the link above. Registrants must provide an e-mail, so that a program link can be sent to them. This program will include a chat-based question-and-answer period where participants can interact with the presenters.
