Today we review the Unsinkable Dry Fly, tied by Steve Cullen! If you’re wondering why it’s called an unsinkable fly, it depends on how it’s built and the materials involved. This fly is designed to sit on the surface in any type of condition and similar to the Fidget, an old dry fly pattern, you can pinch and shake this fly to create lots of action on the surface, simulating a fly that something ended up clinging to the surface of the water. Pack some of these ties for your next day out, they’re definitely worth it!
All the materials needed to tie this fly are available from Glasgow Angling Center as listed below, but as always, if you need any help finding materials or replacements, we’d be happy to help.
