Alvar Peta Helsinki, Finland-based direct-to-consumer pet food brand, has announced the acquisition of Verkkokauppa Kivuton, a Finnish online store focusing on pet health.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
With the acquisition, Alvar pet will offer a wide range of veterinary formulated products and diets individually tailored to the needs of pets. Led by CEO Ilari Haataja, Alvar Pet provides individualized dog diets, designed by veterinarians and nutrition experts. The company specializes in individualized feeding plans, developed under the leadership of its veterinarian and co-founder Henna Söderholm, using extensive databases and machine learning processes. Alvar Pet serves more than 40,000 pet households throughout the Nordic countries, such as Finland, Sweden, and Denmark.
The combined annual sales of the two companies exceeded 10 million euros, showing a 60 percent annual organic growth rate.
