Tails and Trails Traveling Pet Sitting Service provides dog walking and sitting services.
ESTEVAN — Trish Boulding of Estevan says she loves dogs, and inspired by a recent experience, that love for pets has translated into her new business – Tails and Trails Traveling Pet Sitting Service.
“I am a crazy, crazy dog lady … I have that bond with them,” said Boulding in an interview with Mercury and SaskToday.
She started walking dogs that summer, and later, when her friend’s neighbors in Fernie, BC – where she went for the Christmas holidays – asked her to babysit their dogs, she happily Boulding agreed.
“While we were high, I walked them twice a day. … I stayed with the dogs because I like dogs more than people. And that’s how it started,” shared Boulding with a laugh.
Her new business is in Estevan, but Boulding will return to Fernie later this month, as the family that inspired her has asked her to turn her passion into a job to come back and take care of their dogs again.
“Not only did they know their dogs were being groomed at Christmas, but they hadn’t traveled in two years, because the last person they looked after their three pit bulls backed out while they were away on vacation. So, they’ I would hesitate to go to another one, and that’s why they asked me to come back because they knew they could have a stress-free holiday,” shared Boulding.
He noted that when you have more than one dog, kennels can be expensive. Additionally, not all dogs are good at chasing them, so the Tails and Trails Traveling Pet Sitting Service comes in handy.
Boulding provides dog walking services. He also brings dogs to his place if they get along with his animals. Boulding has three pitbulls and a chihuahua of her own. She also offers one-day stays, where she comes in to walk the dog(s) or just hang out with the animals for the day. He can stay at people’s places and take care of their dogs when they are gone. He said he can also travel to other places if his services are required elsewhere.
Boulding is also currently working on a new website and plans to sell a variety of products she has designed.
“There are 250 products that I’ve designed, like dog beds, beach towels, scarves for dogs,” Boulding said. “But it’s not over yet.”
