ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Individuals looking to pamper their pets will soon have a new facility to frequent in Lehigh County.
Hounds Town Allentown, which offers fully interactive dog daycare, overnight dog and cat boarding and pet spa services, will hold a grand opening March 9 at 2305 28th St. SW to Allentown.
An open house where individuals can come to tour the facility will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 2 and 3, co-owner Michael Beauchamp said.
Hounds Town Allentown is part of a national chain of pet care facilities, with other regional Hounds Town locations operating in Reading, Berks County and Chalfont, Bucks County.
Hounds Town USA, founded in 2000 by former NYPD and Nassau County Police canine holder Michael Gould, offers “an affordable and refreshingly straightforward approach to pet care with no hidden fees or extras charge for add-on services,” according to the business’s website. .
Facilities feature spacious play areas for all-day play, large luxury suites for overnight dog boarding and a pampering doggie day spa offering bathing services.
“Our natural pack environments allow dogs to play in groups of other dogs of their own size, temperament, and play style throughout the day socializing which greatly contributes to a balanced life for a dog ,” a message on the business’s website. “Our themed overnight boarding suites allow for a relaxing and restful sleep after a full day of gaming.”
In Allentown, Beauchamp and his wife, Linda D’Alessandro, renovated the approximately 6,000-square-foot building to include new playrooms and boarding rooms, called “townhomes.”
An outdoor play area is coming later this year, Beauchamp said.
Services include dog daycare, starting at $30 on select days; dog boarding, starting at $60 a night; cat boarding, $25 a night; and pet spa services, including hypoallergenic spa baths, blowouts, nail trimming and teeth brushing.
The facility, which features five indoor playrooms, can accommodate a maximum of more than 160 dogs at any one time, Beauchamp said.
“We also offer pet taxis,” Beauchamp said. “So, we can pick up the dogs and bring them to the facility if you want.”
Beauchamp and D’Alessandro are lifelong dog lovers and saw a need for a local Hounds Town outpost because the current Lehigh Valley dog daycare and boarding facility was often too busy.
“We thought, ‘Let’s do something that we all love and something that will provide a great service to the community,'” Beauchamp said.
Community response to the upcoming location has been “really great,” with more than 800 individuals registering to visit the site in the past few months, Beauchamp said.
Prior to the facility’s debut, Hounds Town Allentown is also offering a grand opening offer, where individuals are invited to book an initial screening to qualify for three free days of daycare.
