St. CHARLES, MO. — AFB International announced on February 12 that it has named Michael Ceddia, Ph.D., vice president of global research and development. Ceddia will be responsible for guiding the company’s science and technology initiatives and strategic direction for the accompanying animal palatability solutions, as well as leading the global regulatory, quality, project management and technical vision functions of company.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the AFB Global R&D Team,” said Ceddia. “I look forward to helping the company expand our new innovation and new product development while continuing to deliver a high level of technical service to our customers. I am eager to bring my knowledge and experience to the team and help grow the company.”
Throughout his career, Ceddia has held several executive leadership roles within pet food, consumer products, nutritional and pharmaceutical companies. He most recently served as vice president of R&D, quality and technical operations at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, and also held leadership positions at Kemin Health, Mead Johnson Nutritionals and Procter & Gamble.

Ceddia earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, followed by a master’s degree in biomechanics from the University of Northern Colorado and a Ph.D. in physiology and immunology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
