Viewers were left in tears after watching a cat owner who lost her feline bestie receive a special and personal gift from her groomer.
Paige, known on TikTok as @paige.playsnext, has been going through a grieving process since the death of her 21-year-old cat at the end of January. For the past four years, Alibi has been going to the groomer because she has trouble grooming herself and would develop knots.
Alibi is always a good pet groomer, Paige said Newsweek. She even clings to the groomer while drying her hair. But this fixer has something special, he knows that one day Alibi, his oldest client, will pass.
The groomer begins collecting Alibi’s fur, and when he hears about the cat’s passing, he makes it a special memorial gift. Paige shared the touching gift in a TikTok video on February 10, and now viewers are crying with her.
The groomer made special ornaments and a heart out of Alibi’s fur for Paige to hold and remember Alibi forever.
“I was very overwhelmed with emotion because I really thought he was going to send me a card and maybe a framed picture of Alibi. I didn’t expect it to be so personal,” she said.
So far, the clip has over 256,300 views, 48,800 likes and 546 comments. Viewers shared their sympathy and amazement at the groomer’s gift.
“One quote that has helped me is ‘Our sorrow is a reflection of our love.’ This groomer is the sweetest soul,” commented a viewer.
“So much love put into that gift,” said another.
A third added: “There’s literally nothing I can do for the day. I’m going to freak out.”
Sending Sympathy to Pet Owners
With nearly 66 percent of households in the United States owning a pet, most people have to go through the grieving process for an animal. And if you don’t have a pet, you probably know someone who does.
You want to offer your friend or someone you know your condolences when you hear about the loss of their pet. But, like this groomer did, you can also send something extra to help them through this difficult time.
Daily Paws recommends supporting them one-on-one, fixing their comfort food or helping them care for their pet. Above all, the best thing you can do is be supportive, because the grieving process is different for everyone.
